LES earns distinction as one of Nebraska’s safest companies

LINCOLN — Lincoln Electric System was selected as one of the Nebraska Safety Council’s Peak Award recipients for its outstanding 2017 safety metrics and will receive the award during a ceremony Oct. 10, 2018, in York, Nebraska.

The Peak Award is the highest honor in the council’s workplace safety awards program designed to reward businesses for helping to prevent injuries and illnesses. LES will be joined by BD Pharmaceutical Systems, Nebraska Public Power District, UTC Aerospace Systems (Hamilton Sundstrand) and Zoetis as Peak Award recipients.

“We prioritize safety over everything, whether we’re in the field or in our offices,” said Jim Rigg, LES safety and physical security manager. “Our work is meaningless if we can’t establish a safe workplace and send our employees home to their loved ones. I’m truly grateful that our employees have taken our culture of safety to heart and established Lincoln Electric System as one of Nebraska’s safest companies.”

LES has an exemplary safety record, better than the state average when compared to its industry classification, and has been successful in consistently reducing injuries through increased training and a comprehensive safety program. In May, the National Safety Council, Nebraska, honored LES with a Nebraska’s Safest Companies Award.

LES will receive its latest safety award during the Nebraska Safety Council Conference and Trade Show awards luncheon 12-1:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2018, at the Holthus Convention Center (3130 Holen Ave.).
