When I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to be a lineman. I graduated from the utility line program at Metropolitan Community College (Omaha) with honors, started an internship at LES in 2008, and I’ve been here ever since.

I finished my four-year apprenticeship and am a Journeyman. I work on power lines and couldn’t imagine working with any other group of people. We respect each other and challenge each other to keep learning and make ourselves the best line workers we can possibly be.

Today, I am in charge of a two-person bucket truck, and we do maintenance on the transmission system and install new lines. Each day, there’s a different challenge — a different job where we have to come together and overcome and complete that task — anywhere from teaching a new line worker the basics, to working on energized lines, to leading a crew.

LES has an outstanding safety record and makes sure employees are current on training and have the tools and equipment to make our job safer and less physically demanding. There are no second chances in this profession.

If you are willing to take this line of work seriously, to learn and work hard, LES is your company of choice.
