GIS/CAD Technician/Senior

Area

  • Energy Delivery Division – GIS/CAD Systems Department

Wage Range

  • $15.27 to $22.93 per hour (80% - 95% of CAD Drafting Technician or Senior midpoint) depending on skills and qualifications. This is a full-time, regular position working 40 hours per week with some overtime.

Position Requirements

  • Associate degree in GIS, CAD or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job

  • GIS/CAD Technician Senior requires three years of experience with similar duties as described in the Essential Functions below.

  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license

  • Knowledge of the following:

    • GIS & CAD programs

    • GIS & CAD principles and theories

    • Have or the ability to gain an LES Qualified Electrical Employee certification within the initial probationary period

Essential Functions

  • Updates GIS, CAD and company system records and databases utilizing applicable software, designs related technical documents and maintains related records

  • Inspects and labels equipment for company system records, including the opening of energized equipment

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and technical drawings to verify construction in the field

  • Collects and verifies field data

  • Assists with or manages projects to ensure accuracy of company records and maintains distribution system load data for circuit load management, system protection and engineering planning

  • Assists in or leads crisis/emergency situations and outage restoration work with 24/7 availability

  • Prepares reports and documents for internal and external use using GIS/CAD systems
