ENERGY STAR Homes

LES wants to help you save money. And one of the best ways to save up to one-third on your electric bill is
to use ENERGY STAR® products. ENERGY STAR products are government-certified to be the most energy efficient.
Home buyers are becoming more
interested in energy efficiency.
While the number of homes built
in Lincoln, Neb., between 2005
and 2007 declined 57 percent,
the number of ENERGY STAR homes
built during that period doubled
each year. Eighteen percent of
the homes built in 2007 were
ENERGY STAR homes.
ENERGY STAR Homes...
-
Are typically 30 percent more energy-efficient than homes built to the national energy code.
-
Use substantially less energy for heating, cooling and hot water heating compared to standard homes. Homeowners can expect to save about $200-$400 annually on their utility bills.
-
Keep out excessive heat, cold and noise and
ensure consistent temperatures between and across rooms making these homes more comfortable to live in.
Features of an ENERGY STAR qualified new home include...
-
Increased insulation to help achieve even temperatures throughout the house while using less energy.
-
High-performance windows to help keep heat in during winter and out during summer.
-
Tight construction and tight ducts to help eliminate drafts, moisture, dust, pests and pollen.
-
Energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment that uses less energy. These systems also turn on and off less frequently, removing more humidity and providing better comfort.
LES is proud to be an ENERGY
STAR partner and to offer
the Certified Home Energy Rating

the ENERGY STAR label. The fee
