Community involvement

LES' commitment goes beyond providing an adequate and reliable supply of electricity and low rates. We also contribute to our community to make it a better place to live.

We are proud of our community service, and our employees have donated thousands of hours in a variety of programs.

• We participate in blood drives, coat drives and food drives.
• We stay involved with the community's youth by judging science fairs, presenting electricity safety demonstrations and teaching Junior Achievement curriculum in elementary schools.
• Employees contribute annually to the United Way/Community Health Charities/Community Services Fund pacesetters campaign.
• Through our bills, we provide customers the opportunity to make a volunteer contribution to Lincoln Cares, which helps fund city parks and recreation projects.
• LES joined the AMBER Alert System to assist authorities in child abduction cases.
