We are excited to share our strategic plan, Powering LES Forward, with you. This dynamic roadmap reflects LES’ critical mission of powering Lincoln and the surrounding communities through responsible stewardship of our shared resources.
For nearly 60 years, LES has safely provided reliable and affordable electricity to Lincoln and the surrounding communities. Changes in electricity technology and new and increasing consumer demands bring both opportunities and challenges to LES as it strives to continue its proud tradition of quality service. We remain committed to providing strong value to our customers far into the future.
LES developed a new draft strategic planning effort that will establish a dynamic direction for the utility. The LES strategic plan, Powering LES Forward, will provide a clear and organized view of big-picture outcomes that the organization will work to accomplish, through a cohesive and well-connected picture of short-, medium- and long-term directives, initiatives, programs and projects.
The plan will allow our utility to fulfill the community’s and our Administrative Board’s strong desire for a well-defined strategic direction, with a focus on aligning Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs, and metrics with broader strategies. It will also integrate with LES’ financial plan and performance metrics to ensure consistency and alignment across all functions.
The LES Administrative Board adopted the proposed strategic plan during the Board meeting on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025.
LES selected PA Consulting Group as its strategic planning consultant. This consulting firm has vast experience with clients from eight industries, including energy and utilities.

Thanks to everyone who filled out the LES Strategic Plan Survey, open March 1-April 30. LES also hosted seven community meetings, allowing us to collect insights and dive into community needs. Your input has helped inform us during our Strategic Planning process.
The strategic planning process is nearing completion and will be voted on during the August LES Administrative Board meeting, with implementation to immediately follow.
